Fuchsia Society |
|
The club participates in various community events and
maintains a fuchsia garden at the Del Norte County Fair Grounds. The big
club event of the year is the Del Norte County Fair. The club puts on a
fuchsia plant and flower show, which has become one of the major attractions
of the fair. It is a large fuchsia show. In conjunction with the fair the
club also puts on a fuchsia plant sale featuring 2", 4", and 6" fuchsia
starter plants as well as large hanging basket plants and standard fuchsia
tree plants. Many people come to the fair just to see and buy our gorgeous
fuchsia plants.

Often, when Fuchsias are mentioned, our minds go to the
beautiful, full hanging baskets dripping with blossoms that remind us of
dainty ballerinas. That is a true picture, however, we would like to
acquaint you with many other varieties, such as Uprights, Hardies in ground
planting, Species, Encliandras and Triphyllas. Fuchsias are a great addition
to any garden, deck or patio. |

The first Annual of the Society was published in 1938
under the heading of THE FUCHSIA ANNUAL 1938. The official publication of
THE FUCHSIA SOCIETY
However, it was during 1937 that the idea of a Fuchsia Society was born,
when Clara Lady Boothby met several other Fuchsia enthusiasts, I therefore
quote her opening Presidents Address to the Society published in the first
Annual. |

Welcome to the home page of the
National Fuchsia Society of New Zealand.
The society exists to promote the interest of fuchsias to all parts of New
Zealand and to collaborate with all fuchsia societies world wide. We
encourage social interaction between affiliated members and societies. New

The B.C. Fuchsia and Begonia Society
Our club was established on September 23rd, 1961.
Our mission is to foster and encourage the growing and showing of fuchsias
and begonias, and other shade loving plants. |
|
The Australian Fuchsia Society, based in Adelaide, South
Australia, has provided this basic site to serve the needs of fuchsia loving
folk, not only in our great country, but worldwide. Despite the difficult
growing conditions (high temperatures and at times drought) and the vast
distances, the AFS has provided a service to its members and staged Annual
Shows for over 34 years. |

American Fuchsia
Society
The
purpose of the American Fuchsia Society is to acquaint flower enthusiasts
about the beauty of fuchsias and the techniques to grow healthy blooming
plants. The mission of the Society is furthered by local branches or clubs
and the publication of a bi-monthly Bulletin with varied and interesting
articles. There are twenty-one Branches or clubs that hold monthly meeting,
always with speakers on various aspects of growing fuchsias. Visitors are
always encouraged to come and learn more about growing fuchsias in a very
social atmosphere.
